There are many things to celebrate in the teaching world. I hope this site can bring you tons of fresh, fun, and most importantly, simple ideas to implement in your classroom.  To find out more on why I started this, see the about page.

Today, August 2nd, 2012 marks the first day of this site.  So, please bear with me as I get this site up and running :)  Hang out--there are so many good things coming to this little place.

So let's get right to it...Do you have a meet-the-teacher night at your school?  Or a supply drop-off time?  Let's think about this--this is a huge event for the little ones.  They get to meet THEIR TEACHER.  I don't think anything can be more exciting to a student than to find out who will be their teacher.  And we are just as excited!!  We are ready to put the faces with the classlist we were given.  It's a celebrity night....you have your new students and you have your older students who just want to stop by and say hi.  It's exhausting...in a good way.

Here's a fun little something to get them going....
Do you have an estimation jar in your classroom? 
Have them write their estimation and their intials on the cloth and discuss sometime the first week of school.

And check this out---have you seen chalkboard cloth?????...um yes, please!  Chalkboard cloth is a little something I found at the fabric store.  I'm not sure if they sell it at a big-box store :(  But it is so cool....
you can write on it and wipe it off.  You can even iron it.  Fun!
