Celebrate Halloween with Spider-Cat!

Classroom Celebrations: Celebrating Halloween with Spider Cat

Eek! In just a few short weeks it will be Halloween. I love Halloween! and not for the scary parts (I'm a scaredy-cat.---I was the one who waited for her friends to go through the haunted houses--I waited in the car for them-ha!) BUT for the fun and adorable... creative parts.

When I read, Scaredy-Cat Splat by Rob Scotten, I just kept smiling and smiling! I knew I had found 'the one' for my first holiday pack. I knew I wanted to make Splat in his uber-cute spider costume and then the Halloween Party Pack took off from there.

The Halloween Party Pack has so much stuff to save you a ton of time. Even if your school can't celebrate too much...this pack contains goodies that let you have fun without being overly 'halloween'. It contains all the printables for a little celebration and has activities/stations for 1st and 2nd grade that are aligned with Common Core and TEKS. Learning won't stop with this pack or on this day. These aren't games (I'm sure you can find a ton of those at the stores and online.) These are activities to continue learning and meeting those standards.  I have always found that on the day of a big event or the day before, kids work really well in stations.  These stations work best when they are reviewing skills so some facilitating is happening but mostly students are practicing what you've already taught.  That is just my opinion.  They are too excited and too much is going on...I say just embrace their excitedness (is that a word?).  AND if you don't teach 1st or 2nd grade, just head to Celebrate Halloween where you can get all the printables without the learning activities.

Get ready for some pictures.....be sure to scroll down to the end where all the products are listed and where you can buy them :)

Sometimes, we can't have anything on Halloween because of nutritional requirements.  Well, here are some alternatives.  I would think you could have grapes, kiwi, and pretzel snack mix.

I would just make it fun for the kids...call them fun names.
